Shillong to host India International Women Film Festival

Shillong (PTI): This North-eastern city will host the India International Women Film Festival (IIWFF) beginning March 20.

In the first such film festival in the north-east, 73 films from 32 countries will be shown on the theme 'Look Back'.

The inaugural film would be Turkey's 'Istanbul My Love' by Seckin Yaskar. The festival would end on March 26.

"We will make a special showcase on films made on and from North-east region. The festival will facilitate excellent opportunities for aspiring film makers in the North-east," IIWFF director Shymali Banerjee said at a function here.

The festival is being organised by the International Women Film Society of India in collaboration with Sangma Group and Open Space Jindal Foundation for Development.
