GUWAHATI, May 14 – A two-day cultural festival is being organised by the Eastern Zone Cultural Centre (EZCC), Kolkata, North East Zonal Cultural Centre (NEZCC), Dimapur, Srimanta Sankaradeva Kalakshetra and the Information and Tourism Department of Tripura Government from June 6 next at the Panjabari Shilpagram here to showcase the culture of the peoples of the Brahmaputra, Barak, Ganga and Gomti Valleys. The programmes include poets’ meet, folk dance and music, classical dance and music.
Noted anthropologist Dr Annadacharan Bhagawati will inaugurate the programme at a function at 3 pm of June 6. Former Asam Sahitya Sabha president Kanak Sen Deka will attend the function as the chief guest, while Dr Indira (Mamoni Roisom) Goswami, Ratna Ojah, Swapnanil Barua, V Hekali Jimni, among others, will attend the function as distinguished guests, said the press release.
